Planning a trip is very similar to finding the right house. Before you commit, you want to make sure you find the right place and have as much information about where you are going because, let’s face it, you’re going to have to live with the decision you make for you and your family. It requires research and, while you can do it on your own, having the guidance of someone who is an expert makes the entire process better for everyone involved. Yep, choosing your home is a lot like planning a vacation and the team at Burgan is happy to have the newest member of the Burgan Bunch, Kim Sauerwein, a proven expert at both of them.
For more than a decade, Kim Sauerwein has been a successful real estate agent in the Mahoning Valley. A native of Columbiana and alumnus of YSU, Kim’s love of the beach led her to begin her career as a professional travel agent, growing her passion of providing a service to others that makes a lasting impression. She made no better impression though than the one on her husband, Bob, which led the two of them to start a family of their own by having their son, Mitch, and some furry family members too in the form of a dog named, Maggie, and two cats, Mavis and Brutus.
Kim continued to excel as a travel agent in the area, including serving 2 years as a Director with the Columbiana Area Tourism Board, but in 2005, she was ready to take a new trip in her career. Kim became a licensed real estate agent, learning how to apply her skills from being a travel agent to finding her clients a place to come back to after their trips ended. Like any good vacation spot, the second trip is always better than the first. After being a member of the Burgan Bunch earlier in her career, Kim left to experience another agency, only to realize that life truly is Better with Burgan.
Maintaining the same high standards Burgan Real Estate has been known for by our clients for over 40 years is no vacation. But we know that Kim will be up to the challenge, especially if it means her being rewarded by getting back to sipping strawberry daiquiris on the beach, or relaxing by reading a biography or historical book while enjoying some pretzels and nuts with a cold root beer.
Today, when she’s not enjoying hikes in Mill Creek MetroParks or writing for the Mahoning Valley Real Producers Magazine, she proudly is a part of the Struthers Rotary and a fan of the three major sports teams in Cleveland – Browns, Cavs and Indians. However, she will always be a YSU Penguin.
While planning vacations and finding someone’s dream home requires a similar skill set, vacations always have to come to end. For Kim, she knows that finding the perfect house for her clients now with Burgan means even though the trip ends, she finds them a better place they can always call home. Well, Kim, we hope this vacation of ours together never ends and are excited to have you as the newest member of the Burgan Bunch!
