Derrick McQueen has always been a person who has sought to leave the world better than how he found it with each step, which is why we are excited to have him apply this to our team as the newest REALTOR® with Burgan Real Estate.
Derrick, a native of Youngstown, went on to attend the Ohio State University after graduating from Ursuline High School. While a Buckeye, Derrick earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration before returning back to Youngstown to find a career to match his passions for making a difference in his hometown. He landed a career with FM101.9 JAMZ radio station as one of their Producers, working behind the scenes to produce live shows for all to enjoy. His love for the city which raised him and passion to make it better guided him to work for the City of Youngstown as a meter installer. It wasn’t until he met Alan Friedkin, co-owner of Burgan Friedkin Commercial Real Estate, that he began thinking about a career in real estate and the only place that shared the same core beliefs and values as he was at Burgan Real Estate.

Outside of his career, McQueen’s commitment to making an imprint of positivity on the world continues. Whether it in his relationships with his wife, Kali, and 21-year old daughter or by being active in local clubs such as the Toastmasters or alumni of Inroads, he puts everything he has into making every experience one to remember. His passion for making a difference doesn’t stop there. While he enjoys watching his favorite sports teams, like the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers, or reading books to help him grow into a better person, his favorite activity is being a mentor and financial coach to others. He has been a personal financial coordinator with the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University, advising individuals how to recover from debt situations and develop a journey to financial security and independence.
